2009-01-16 15:13:00
Twisted Fish today released version 4 of ECHO, the unique integrated environmental service management system for local authorities and their contractors.
New features for ECHO 4.0 include advanced work flow and scripting capabilities, a significant improvement in performance and scaleability and a raft of UI additions and tweaks.
Building on the robust, core work flow states in previous versions, ECHO 4.0 introduces full scripting capabilities that enable the user to invoke an almost limitless range of functionality to facilitate the resolution of customer issues or service requests. Stock functionality in this area now includes diarised events and automated alerts via email and text message.
"The addition of the advanced scripting enables the system to accurately reflect the true business process." said Neal Foreman, Development Manager at Twisted Fish. "Combined with the unique data structure designed around environmental services, there is no need to take the system into account when designing or re-working a business process - the system will match the business, not the other way around. It's the way it should be."
Improvements in the performance and scaleability of the product were validated by external consultants after exhaustive testing. These upgrades will enable customers to confidently deploy the solution across their enterprises safe in the knowledge that it can cope with any future load demands they may place on it in the form of users, contracts or services.
Whilst most of the changes were under the bonnet, there were also a few improvements to the user interface to allow operators to manage a larger number of service requests and works orders more efficiently. The changes have prioved a hit with users - "I love what you have done with it!" commented user Lynn Davis working in a large municipal waste contract.
ECHO is currently the engine behind the excellent customer service provided in many UK boroughs by innovative and market leading municipal service contractors including Veolia Environmental Services and May Gurney Environmental Services.
